Bio:
Alan Trestour is Founder/Director at ALT Advisory and has over 20 years in engineering, project management in delivery of rail systems, asset management, business development and commercial management in the transport and energy sectors.
Bilingual French-Australian, with an international master’s degree in Electrical and Systems Engineering from Paris/ France, Alan has travelled worldwide to gain energy and transport sector expertise working with international engineering and transport companies such as Alstom, Egis, Bovis Lend Lease and Systra, internationally and in Australia.

More recently, Alan’s focused on supporting either business case work, feasibility to concept design in passenger transport rail systems including metro, light rail and commuter rail networks in both greenfield or brownfield environments.
Having held roles in the industry over two decades Alan has proven credentials in supporting clients during all project phases.
Over the years Alan has developed well-rounded skills in bids, business strategy and P&L business management in Australia through roles as Board Member for NFP (Non-For-Profit) organisations, executive directorship for global corporation ALSTOM in Australia, general management with SYSTRA ANZ.
Alan has built-up credibility in his vast network locally/globally throughout government, transport industry technology providers, engineering, and construction. Other areas include logistics, supply chain and manufacturing areas.
Alan’s thought leadership skills have led him to present papers at many conferences, share thoughts & host discussions on several transport topics at various conferences, including:
- IQPC Sydney Asset management conferences ‘’Operational efficiencies through integrated asset management” & “Alstom predictive maintenance tools for pro-active maintenance assets” (in 2014 and 2015)
